  We now have the exciting opportunity for Soil Technicians to join our Toowoomba head office.

  The Opportunity

  As our Soil Technicians, you will be responsible for completing field and laboratory soil testing for construction & engineering quality purposes.

  We will support your training and development in this new career and a rewarding trade. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of construction projects and do a wide variety of tasks from field sample collection to laboratory testing for a dynamic work environment.

  This is an opportunity to be fully qualified in a new trade in as little as 18 months and have the ability to earn well over $40 an hour as you progress through your career to a senior technician.

  In your first six to 12 months, you will work alongside our Senior Soil Technicians and assist them in communicating with our clients onsite, carrying out testing, and providing results. You will work in the field and within our laboratory and will collaborate with our other Soil Techs as needed to ensure accurate and timely results.

  You will have the opportunity to earn your Certificate III in Laboratory Skills and obtain nuclear density moisture gauge license, this will put you on the path to be a fully qualified Soil Testing Technician within 18 months.

  Working Monday to Friday, we offer flexibility to suit your lifestyle needs, though our standard day starts at 7 am.

  You will assist with and eventually do the following:

  • Complete testing within timeframes and in accordance with standards and regulations under the Team Leader's direction;
  • Supervise earthworks operations, conduct field testing and accurately enter results while in the field;
  • Carry out various laboratory tests on soil samples taken from field testing to verify results
  • Always follow all personal workplace safety and quality assurance guidelines and NATA guidelines. 

  To succeed as our Soil Technicians, you will have general understanding of construction projects, and be looking to progress your career in a dynamic trade. Passionate about providing accurate and timely results, you will be looking for a role where you can develop your career while enjoying work-life balance.

  Some experience in soil testing or concrete testing is an advantage, but not a requirement.
